Launching Soon…My First Book

It gives me immense pleasure to inform you that I finished writing my first book—an etymology quiz on India, covering various facets of the country. This subject holds a special place in my heart.

My journey with words began in a remote village, devoid of dictionaries. English was the most dreaded subject in my school where 90% of the students would fail to secure the 35% pass marks. Times when my father traveled to meet a teacher in a nearby village to help me understand the nuances of language now serve as cherished memories.  My passion for words has since guided me through diverse roles in research, writing, marketing communication, and learning & development throughout my career.

India, with its vast expanse and diverse perspectives, has been an integral part of my exploration. This connection deepened during my tenure working on the regional version of the internationally-acclaimed show Who Wants to be a Millionaire. Witnessing contestants work out answers through clues fueled my desire to create a quiz book exclusively dedicated to etymology, on India. The result is this book.

The book delves into various facets of India—including Art & Culture, Food, Rivers, Mountains & Lakes, Indian Words, Dynasties, Forts & Palaces, Lakes, Hill Stations, Clothing & Textiles, Brand Names, Musical Instruments, Rivers, Startups, Occupational Professions, Heritage Sites, Waterfalls etc.—from an etymological perspective. The idea is to make learning more enriching with real stories narrated with logic. This book is a bold attempt in making etymology accessible, and enjoyable to everyone. I welcome anyone willing to support me on this endeavor, as I approach publishers.
